Saint Mark Summer Academy

At St. Mark's we've been working hard to bring you the third year of our annual Summer Academy.  The Summer Academy is where summer learning meets academic excellence.

Meet the Staff

Mr. Jared Cullen

Jared will be working primarily with the older children. He is extremely excited to join our Summer Academy staff. He is incorporating weekly sports fundamentals, with a focus on a different sport each week. This will give the kids a relaxed and pressure free way to learn more about sports.

Mrs. Mariella Caldwell

Mariella brings valuable knowledge, experience, and creativity to our Summer Academy.  Mariella's talents in arts and crafts and summer fun will help make our summer camp the best in town.

Other helpers:  Included in our program will be Notre Dame High school students earning their CSP hours.

What we Offer!

Academic Bridge Work:  Unique to our Summer Academy will be a focus on academics.  Students will be divided daily into age appropriate academic groups for bridge curriculum work.  The goal to the bridge curriculum is to help students better transition for the coming year.  The academic component of our Summer Academy will provide your child(ren) with a solid head start for the coming school year.

Theme Based Learning:  Each week will feature a different educational theme supported daily with structured activites, arts, and crafts.  In addition each student will have plenty of free play to enjoy the summer.  We seek to establish the perfect balance where summer learning becomes summer fun!  Field trips included!

Catholic Identity:  In addition to excellent academic prep work for the coming year, athletic opportunities, and summer fun, our Summer Academy remains focused on our Catholic mission of evangelization.  St. Mark's Summer Camp will feature daily prayers and catechesis focused on Bible stories.

The Facilities

The Summer Academy will be housed at St. Mark Catholic School.  Air conditioning will be made available for the summer in the rooms on the South end of the campus to help battle the summer heat.  The Summer Academy will frequently use the computer lab, gym, playgrounds, and academic classrooms.

Who May Enroll?

Enrollment is open to any St. Mark student who will be enrolled in grades Pre-k 4 thru 6th grade for the 2009-10 school year. You may enroll at any time. Openings are available.

How do I register my child for this great summer experience?

Print out the registration form below and return it to St. Mark Catholic School.  Space is available on a first come first serve basis.  A $50 registration fee is due for each child.  This fee will cover the cost of a camp shirt (must be worn for field trips), and the cost of your child's bridge book for summer learning.

* Fees include a daily snack.  Students are to bring a sack lunch daily.
